Friday, August 1st, marked the third and final Main Street Friday of the summer for the businesses and residents of Montpelier. The summer event, which runs from 5 to 8 p.m., has helped with community building efforts, as well as increased awareness of downtown businesses during slow summer months.

The final Main Street Friday of the Summer featured some exciting specials from downtown shops such as Simply Sweet & Rustic, a downtown boutique, who offered new t-shirts, sales events, and a dirty soda bar with flavorings to add to soft drinks.
Positive Energy Café partnered with Mainstream Fiber, the company bringing fiber internet to Montpelier, to bring free drinks to those who stopped by the café during the event. The internet company is currently offering pricing starting as low as $35 per month!
We Seem to Have It All also ran a special sale during the extended business hours – $20 per bag of clothing.
Mont’s Wood Shed also set up an outdoor display of his wood-working goods at 107 East High Street. He offered a 10% discount on finished products and was available to take orders for new projects, as well.
Around 7 p.m. Joel Neff and his sister Kelli took the “stage” at Tri Kappa Park, corner of Main Street and Highway 18, to entertain the crowd.
Many thanks to all businesses and patrons who helped make these events successful, and to the organizers of Main Street Fridays, as well! Remember to shop local!
